Masters in Secondary Education Program

Description

The ID&T program at the Darden College of Education provides students with a solid grounding in instructional design, cognitive theory and research to meet these challenges. Our wide variety of course offerings are designed to give the graduate a strong background in both the theory and practice of the field. All students will study the following:

  • Applied Cognition

  • Evaluation & Assessment
  • Future Trends in Technology
  • Quantitative and Qualitative Research

The ID&T provides the flexibility to pursue individual interests. The rigorous ID&T course of study prepares graduates for a future in instructional technology in a variety of venues.
Note: The M.S.Ed. in the Instructional Design and Technology does not offer licensure in secondary education.

Requirements

Masters Level Students
Admission decisions are based on several criteria including GPA (undergraduate and any other graduate work), a and GRE scores (analytical writing, verbal, and quantitative) or MAT scores.
  • The minimum acceptable scores vary each year depending on the number of students we can admit to the program. In general, it is expected that students will have a score of 500 on the verbal and quantitative tests and 4.5 on the analytical writing test of the GRE.
